My time at Atherton State High School has been some of the best time of my life. I have made heaps of good friends and have had a lot of awesome experiences.
I received a warm welcome when I first arrived at Atherton State High School. They gave me buddies that showed me around the school and introduced me to other students. Also the international coordinators, Mrs. Markwick and Mrs. Grimshaw helped me a lot. They were always there to help me if I had a problem, or if I just wanted to talk.
I was also provided with a host family. The host family took me in as a member of the family. They have taken me to several places around North Queensland. My host family has made this experience the best experience. I enjoyed spending time with them, and the time was filled with laughter. I couldn’t wish for a better host family.
In my time in Australia, I have been to Sydney, Alice Springs, seen Ayers Rock, and been to several places around North Queensland.
There are always a lot of things you can do here in Atherton. You can join several kinds of sports. I played tennis and futsal while I was here. There were usually parties on the weekends that I and my friends would go to. I will always remember my time here in Australia and all the friends I have made.
