HALL & HIRE
HIRE OF COMMUNITY HALL The Basketballers/Netballers/Futsallers will have 4 nights (Monday through Thursday inclusive) set aside for their use for their respective seasons. In general, these nights will not be touched unless for a specific and unusual reason. Outside seasons will be available for general hire or use by Basketball/Netball/Futsal from week to week by negotiations. The hiring of the hall on week nights (Monday through Friday) will be on a block booking basis from 4pm till the end of the evening (i.e. there will only be 1 booking for each evening irrespective of the time of use, and such a booking will entitle the user to access for the whole of that evening). Bookings for Saturday and Sunday will be broken up into 2 sessions for each day, namely: SESSION 1 - FROM MORNING THROUGH UNTIL 1PM SESSION 2- FROM 1.30PM THROUGH UNTIL END OF EVENING The cost of hiring the hall will be broken up into an evening for hire Monday through Friday, and the 2 sessions each of Saturday and Sunday. The costs for such hire is as follows:
If a performance is hiring the hall for a production and also needs to hire it for practice, then the cost of practice hire will be 50% of the normal hire for that time (up to a maximum of 3 practices- if more practices are required, this will be by negotiation with the management committee). A bond will be required from each hirer and will be lodged 14 days before use or upon booking, whichever is the greater lead time. This bond will be kept until a satisfactory inspection is made to check for adequate cleaning and no damage. The amount of the bond is as follows:

HIRING TIMES Any organisation using the hall must have it cleaned and vacated 30 minutes before the hiring time of the next scheduled activity. If there is no next scheduled activity, then this is to be read as being cleaned and vacated by 9.30am of the following day. 2. BOOKINGS Bookings may be made through the Atherton High School (or through the Council during the December/January holidays). Tentative bookings may be made but these must be confirmed and the bond and fees lodged 14 days before the date of hire. 3. FEES The hiring fees for the hall (determined from a separate scale of charges) will be required 14 days prior to the use of the hall, or immediately upon booking if at a closer time than 14 days. In addition, a bond will be paid, which will be refunded upon satisfactory cleaning and no damage during the hire period. 4. KEYS Keys for the hall must be collected from the school (or the Council if during the December/January holidays), before 4.30pm on the day required and returned by 9.30am of the day after the hiring. Special arrangements will generally not be made regarding keys and it is expected that the hirer will adhere to the above times. Part of the bond will be forfeited if special arrangements need to be made apart from the above. 5. INSPECTION AND CLEANING Cleaning through the week will be done as a normal part of the cleaning of school buildings. The cleaning after each function held in the hall is the responsibility of the group making the booking and a bond will be held to be returned only upon satisfactory return of the ahll to a clean and undamaged condition. |
